Whilst carrying out general research about Digbeth, I found The Custard Factory to be an extremely significant part of the area.

Previously Victorian factories, where egg-free custard was first invented, the buildings are now used to house Digbeth's independent creative businesses.
I took inspiration from these photographs of the Custard Factory to form key shapes and colours to create my initial branding ideas.
Initial ideas for each element of Digbeth's branding.
Experimenting with hand drawn type and other elements to convey a feeling of creativity and the 'hand-made'. I will draw scenes of Digbeth and simplify into line drawings to give a common theme. I want the outcome of the branding to represent the feeling of Digbeth, particularly The Custard Factory's architecture, as I believe most importance is within the people and place.
